Summary:  Seacret Direct is an MLM company that offers customers the top-notch Dead Sea derived skincare products. They also provide a business opportunity for people who wants to make money with their MLM program. But, this is not the best “work from home” opportunity that I could recommend to you because of several downsides, and one of them is because of the meager success rate  more than 99% of members are making less than yearly minimum wage!

Overall SCAM Rating: 50/100 (Normal)

What Is Seacret Direct?

Based in Phoenix, AZ, Seacret Direct is an MLM company founded by Izhak Ben Shabat in 2001. They specialize in developing skincare products made from minerals, salts, and mud from the Dead Sea.

Meanwhile, they also provide MLM business opportunity for people who’re capable of marketing their products and recruiting new members to take part in the MLM network.

This company has been nominated as one of the top 100 MLM companies by Direct Selling News in 2018. The video below explains more about their story. Feel free to check it out.

I don’t know how you think about the video. But from my standpoint, as a consumer, I was quite impressed as they’ve smartly used the marketing tricks to “hook” my attention and trigger my curiosity in using their products.

About The Founder

Founder of Seacret Direct, Izhak Ben Shabat

Ben Shabat and his family moved to the United States from Israel in 2000. Since then, they’ve inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of the country and aspired to build their business empire.

They’ve tried everything from selling ice cream to children’s toys during the holidays.

The one that brought them a massive success is when they started selling the Dead Sea – derived products in mall kiosks.

That’s when Seacret Direct was built and went global within a few years. Now, they’re a multi-million company and have been named as one of the top 100 MLM companies around the world by Direct Selling News in 2018.

It’s undoubtedly to say that Ben Shabat’s entrepreneurial journey is the quintessential American Dream story.

Seacret Direct Product Line

Seacret Direct’s flagship products are those skincare products like body butter, salt and oil scrub, and salt scrub, etc. These products are all made from the ingredients derived from the Dead Sea.

They claim that their skincare products could improve your overall skin condition, and works well for age-defying.

For sure, these are not their only products. They also market a range of bath & body products and nutritional supplements.

Apparently, Seacret Direct is getting great reviews from customers in these public places. Hence, I think there’s no big issue with their product line.

Those reviews can prove that they’re not making false claims or exaggerating the benefits of their products, but selling authentic and safe products.

How To Join Seacret Direct And Make Money?

As you might know, most MLM companies make their compensation plan sophisticated and hard-to-understand. Seacret Direct has no different here.

I’ll try my best to summarize everything for you and show you how you can take part in their MLM program and make money.

Here’s an image showing the overall process.

How you can make money with MLM

The Joining Fee

To be an associate of Seacret Direct, you need to pay a $49 joining fee, or pay an additional $50 for a total of $99 to be upgraded to the “5-in-5 Agent Kit”.

Once enrolled, there will be a renewal fee of $49 to be paid on the anniversary date of enrollment.

To remain an active member, you’re given three options:

  1. Generate 200 GV a week.
  2. Have 4 Active VIP/Elite Customers
  3. Purchase 35 PV worth of product every month, which is equivalent to an extra $50 expenditure every month.

From the list above, it’s undoubtedly to say that the third one is the easiest way to accomplish their requirement.

This is because it’s almost impossible for you to quickly build a reliable downline team or closing 4 active high-class customers in the very beginning.

As a result, your minimum startup cost will be around $49 + $49 + ($50 x 12) = $698 in your first year!

Understanding The Ways You Can Make Money from Their Compensation Plan

Just like I said earlier, I don’t know why most MLMs make their compensation plan harder to understand than solving a Rubik’s cube blindfolded.

Thus, there’s no point for me to go into every detail of their compensation because I can guarantee that will “put you to sleep faster than a sloth on Ambien.”

To keep things simple for your better understanding, I’ll only briefly explain the main ways you can make money with the company.

Overall, there’re 8 main ways you can make an income out of Seacret Direct.

  1. Retail Commission

You can earn retail commission by selling products to retail customers.

The retail commission is the difference between the wholesale and retail cost of products ordered.

  1. Recruitment Commission

You can earn a recruitment commission up to $150 from every recruitment you make (convincing new members to join the MLM program).

  1. Residual Commissions

You can earn commissions for your downline team’s sales using a “binary” commission structure, as shown in the figure below.

Binary Compensation Structure

This “binary” compensation structure is the aspect that allows you to make the majority of your money.

With that said, it’s also the one that scares people out as the marketing model is similar to a pyramid scheme.

  1. Wow Bonus

The WOW Bonus is a retail sales incentive that paid out on VIP and Elite retail customers’ orders.

  1. Global VIP & Elite Customer Pool

The Global VIP & Elite Customer Pool a share-based retail sales incentive that holds 2% of company-wide VIP & Elite customer order volume.

Once you’re qualified for this bonus, you’ve got the chance to receive the number of shares that you may qualify for.

  1. Rank Achievement Bonus

As the name said, you can get the rewards from the company once you achieved a certain high rank on their MLM leaders board.

  1. SuperStar Builder Bonus

Once you hit a particular position and above, and you help your personally recruited member qualifies as a Superstar within 28 days of joining the company, you’ll be qualified to earn $100 SuperStar Builder Bonus.

  1. Drive Your Dream Bonus

The Drive Your Dream Bonus is a recurring four-week bonus paid out to higher-ranked members.

It's Confusing! I Know.

Don’t worry if you don’t understand what I’m trying to explain. You can watch the video explanation below for clearer insight.

But I think the things you should concern are the reasons why don’t I recommended Seacret Direct to any newbies who want to learn to make money online, which I’ll be going into more in-depth in the next section.

4 Reasons Why I Don't Recommend Seacret Direct

  1. Overpriced Products & Joining Fee

As there’s a saying goes – Picture paints a thousand words. So please take a look at the product comparison graphic below.

Overpriced Seacret Direct's products

A similar mud mask found on Amazon at a much lower price, with excellent customer reviews.

If someone can find a better alternative as I did, why do they even spend time thinking about Seacret’s products?

Additionally, not everyone can afford the $698 startup fee, especially for people who’re running on a tight budget.

These factors will only make your MLM journey tougher than you think.

  1. Low Income Potential

This is the most crucial part. So sit tight, and read carefully what I’m going to explain to you right now…

Here’s the figure showing you Seacret’s income disclosure.

As I’ve highlighted for you, among those 104,044 members, only 262 members are making over $20k/year.

In other words, only 0.0025% of people are making more than the annual minimum wage (average 20k/year globally). What a pathetic amount!

Plus, I can guarantee most of them are TOPPs (top-of pyramid scheme) who get involved in the business way earlier than you.

Majority of the people who join such MLMs failed!

Data speak louder words. The evidence is right in front of you.

  1. You’re Forced To Pay The Autoship Payment

As I’ve mentioned in the earlier chapters, there’s no quick way for you to build a solid downline team and find lifetime value customers at the beginning of your MLM journey.

For you to stay active, the only way out is you need to buy the products with your own money before you can wave off the MLM commission qualification with your team sales.

  1. It’s Seems Like A Pyramid Scheme In Disguise!

Quite frankly, I reckon their operation looks like a pyramid scheme in disguise because of the obliged payment and heavy emphasis on recruitment more than product selling.

I don’t know you, but I’m the not type of person who would bother friends and relatives and promote them the “great opportunity” that ends up in most people losing money!

Why Do I Like About Seacret Direct?

Long History & Excellent Company Reputation

Throughout the 19+ years in the business, Seacret Direct has provided customers high-quality products, and they never make false claims and exaggerating the benefits of their products.

The excellent customer feedback and BBB rating on the company are great evidence to support my claim.

So, Is Seacret Direct A SCAM?

Now to the most critical verdict: Is Seacret Direct a SCAM?

To be honest, I can’t make a definite judgment to claim it’s a scam or not.

It does provide you the actual products to be sell to the retail customers and earn commissions. And they also laid out every detail of their compensation plan for your reference.

But, the obliged payment makes their business operation looks like a pyramid scheme in disguise.

For sure, you can earn a good amount of retail commission by marketing their products. But forming a downline team is the best way to maximize income potential and avoid losing money.

If you’re a shy and introverted person who’s not comfortable with making new friends, or hate face-to-face selling like me, Seacret Direct’s MLM opportunity is not for you.

There’s no point if you end up doing what you hate, just to make money.

If you agree with me, I got a better opportunity for you…

You Deserve A Better Opportunity

Kudos to you! You’ve just read 2000+ words and still counting. If you make it this far, I commend your commitment.

Meanwhile, I can also feel how serious you’re when it comes to finding a proper way to make money from home.

As you might know, MLM is a flawed business model.

For sure, there’re still people who make a good amount of money with MLM. But it often represents a tiny group of people who joined the program early.

That said, it’s challenging for people who’re BOPs (bottom-of-pyramid) to make some serious dough because they’re running out of people to “recruit”.

MLM Unilevel Compensation Structure

Instead, Affiliate Marketing is my top recommended business model for anyone to make money from home.

The reason is simple…

Advantage 1: No Recruitment Needed

  • You don’t need to “chase” after people and talk them into MLM opportunity where most people lose money.

Advantage 2: Freedom of Choice

  • You can promote any products you love and not be restricted only to promote the products from one MLM company.

Advantage 3: Low Startup Cost

  • Unlike MLM, where you’ll need to pay a pricy introductory fee to join, it takes little to no startup cost to kickstart your entrepreneurial journey in Affiliate Marketing.

You might think I’m biased, but I’m just telling the truths…

  1. Your article makes for an interesting read. Thank you for taking the time to share this.

At first glance, the products seem very appealing, and the fact that they were nominated as one of the top 100 MLM companies by Direct Selling News all seems to make good reading.

Personally, having been involved in MLM before, the success rate wouldn’t put me off as I know that’s the reality of an MLM, and can also appreciate that a lot of people who are signed up never have any intention of doing anything with the business, or do not have the mindset to give the business a good enough go.

I find your review about the product price interesting, and it would definitely be something that I would be interested to look in to further: whilst there may be cheaper alternatives on the market, what are the quality of these alternatives I wonder?

Overall your article has sparked my interest, and whilst I am not planning on going and joining tomorrow, there seem to be a lot worse MLM’s out there. The trouble is, there are so many of these companies that are popping up and marketing themselves as the next best thing, it is people like yourself who take the time to review them fully that really make the difference and help people.

    Thank you for this

    1. Thanks for your recognition, Emma.

Indeed, MLM might not be a great choice for beginners who wants to make money online.

That’s why I often suggest affiliate marketing which is more beginner-friendly.

  2. Hello there, This is an amazing article that you have got here. Secret is not a scam but does look like one. How can they require so much fee to becoming a member? It is too expensive for just anybody to start and I am very sure it is not the right type of investment to be made.

Thanks for rendering this insightful information with me.

    1. Thanks for taking your precious time to read my article, Awsinikistevie. I am glad to hear that you’re able to get some values from my article.

  3. Helo Dear, a big thanks to you for sharing this insightful review on seacret MLM. I have been longing for so much information on this platform for a while now. Anyways after seeing this review it’s pretty clear that it’s not a scam but the obliged payment makes their business operation looks like a pyramid scheme in disguise.  The platform is not a take for me so i can’t really recommend it to anyone.
