Who Is Jack Fallon?

The founder and CEO of Total Life Changes, Jack Fallon.

With over tens of thousands of followers on Instagram and Facebook, Jack Fallon – the founder and CEO of Total Life Changes, is considered as one of the authority figures in the network marketing space.

Jack wasn’t born with a silver spoon in mouth. He had nothing when he was young. So he’ll hustle and do anything to get by.

As with most Direct marketers, a few acquaintances introduced him to the method of earning additional income. That’s the moment he founds his forte and struck his first bucket of gold with direct selling.

He soon decided to build an MLM business that could help others in some way other than coaching them on working a business plan. This is how Total Life Changes was born.

Better Business Bureau (BBB)

Customer Reviews on Total Life Changes, as seen on Better Business Bureau (BBB).
As you can see from the images above, this company had mixed reviews.

They’ve got an excellent reputation on Facebook and Amazon. Everyone is praising their products and MLM business opportunity.

Whereas on BBB, they only obtained 2.8 out of the 5-star rating, while received 145 customer complaints over the past 4 years.

Among those 145 complaints, up to 61 of them are complaining about their product or service, as shown in the figure below.
Customer Complaints Summary, as seen on Better Business Bureau (BBB)

Some of the reviews complain that their Iaso tea is not working at all, and worst comes to worst, a few customers even suffered side effects after consuming the tea.

But, there’re still many people who are saying the Iaso Tea works great for them. Some of them even posted their before & after photos on the platforms.

Thus, I reckon the results that people get from any weight loss products or programs are all boils down to one main factor: the human factor.

Here’re 2 reasons why do I say so:

1) You can create the best weight loss program/nutritional supplements. But in the end, you’ll still have people not be able to lose weight simply because they were not disciplined enough to follow through;

2) Or, their bodies can’t get used to the program/product because it worked differently for them.

How To Join Total Life Changes & Make Money?

As you can already tell, Total Life Changes is an MLM company. And the compensation plan is the business foundation of an MLM company.

I’ve no idea why most MLM companies make their compensation plan sophisticated and hard-to-understand. Total Life Changes has no different here.

I’ll try my best to summarize everything and show you how you can participate in their MLM program.

Here’s an image showing the overall process.
How you can make money with MLM

1) Getting Started – The Joining Fee

In most cases, you need to pay a joining fee or purchase their so-called “business starter kit” before joining their MLM program.

To be Total Life Changes’ distributor, they required you to pay a $39.95 one-time fee and $40 monthly auto-ship to stay active in order to get the commission.

Optionally, you can increase your commission rate by purchasing what Total Life Changes call “Leadership Packs”:

  • Leadership Pack 1 – $199 (an additional 5% on commissions for 2 months)
  • Leadership Pack 2 – $499 (an additional 5% on commissions for 4 months)
  • Leadership Pack 3 – $999 (an additional 5% on commissions for 6 months)

2) Understanding The Basics of Their Compensation Plan

As I’ve mentioned earlier, most compensation is very complicated and hard-to-understand than solving a Rubik’s cube blindfolded.

Let’s not talk about the different tiers/leaderboard rankings and any complex MLM stuff that could bore you and “put you to sleep faster than a sloth on Ambien.”

All you need to know is that Total Life Changes pay out the commissions to their distributors through a binary structure, as shown in the figure below. And there’re 6 main ways for you to earn commissions from Total Life Changes.

Binary Compensation Structure
Ways To Earn Commissions From Total Life Changes:

i. Retail Commissions

You get 50% commissions whenever you make sales by selling Total Life Changes’ products/services to retail customers.

ii. Fast Start Bonus

When a new member joins the company and places a minimum order of $40, the recruiting member will receive a 50% Fast Start Bonus.

iii. Residual Binary Commissions

Whenever your downlines make sales or recruitment, you can earn a percentage of commissions from them.

The residual binary commissions are also known as team commissions, and they’re paid out at the end of a payable month.

iv. Binary Commissions Match

For every new member you recruit, the company pays out a 50% matching bonus on your binary earnings.

v. Corporate Expenses Account

The amount of this bonus is not disclosed, but the company does state the qualified distributors can “earn up to $1000” to spend as they wish.

vi. Car Bonus

The Car Bonus appears to be a cash payout that affiliates can spend up to $1500.

I’ve explained Total Life Changes’ compensation plan in plain language. You can check out the video explanation below if you wish to learn more about their business opportunity.

3) Build A Downline Team & Make Money!

The last thing you should do is try your very best to recruit as many people as possible to build a reliable downline team and earn commissions.

And now you might be asking whether you can choose to make commission only through selling their product or not, without recruiting people.

My answer is Yes. But, you’ve to understand that the ideal way to succeed in MLM business is to form a downline team that can branch out your circle and maximizes your earning potential.

That’s why it’s called Multi-Level Marketing

4 Reasons Why I don't Recommend Total Life Changes

1) No Income Disclosure

Let me tell you why an income disclosure is a big deal.

Income disclosure is an essential statement for you to know how much is the potential amount you can earn from an MLM company.

Unfortunately, Total Life Changes hasn’t published an income disclosure yet. However, I’ve done an estimation of their income potential.

Let me illustrate.

According to DSN, in 2016, the company’s revenue is $88 million, and they’ve 49,800 salespeople around the globe.

Here’s the screenshot of the DSN’s report:

DSN's report on Total Life Changes

Let’s assume all the $88 million in revenue is generated by every salesperson, and they’ve got the chance to get it all.

Simple math applied here, after distributing the $88 million to 49,800 salespeople, and they’ll get…

$88 million ÷ 49,800 salespeople = $1767 annual income

After further dividing the $1767 annual income to 12 months, every salesperson will only earn an average of $147.25/month.

Well, this is just my assumption as the salesperson’s annual income will be MUCH LOWER than this number.

Why? Simply because the $88M in revenue will not be distributed to every salesperson. The company needs money to run their business, too.

Also, Total Life Changes is an MLM company, which means there’ll be a small group of distributors who’re making a good amount of money. But the majority of them, they either lose money or get nothing.

2) Health & Wellness Is An Saturated Niche

Health and wellness is a very competitive niche in the MLM industry.

Total Life Changes’ direct competitors are including some of the MLM “heavyweights” like Amway, Purium, and Melaleuca.

If you want to reap the MLM industry’s maximum benefits, your closing skill must be excellent so that you can make more sales and recruitment.

This is because customers will never know which nutritional supplements are the best as there’re too many options to choose from!

And there’s saying goes: “Confusing mind always say NO”. It’s your role to clear-cut their selection and leads them to buy your products.

It’s a nice way to train your mentality and closing skills because you might get rejected countless times in the beginning.

But for someone introverted and hate face-to-face selling like me, MLM is definitely not my forte.

That’s why I choose blogging. It’s a better way to serve you with valuable content like this one you’re reading right now. 🙂

3) You’re Forced Into Auto-ship

As I said earlier, to qualify for commissions, you’ll need to spend at least $40 on their products every month.

Although their autoship fee is relatively lower than that of other MLM companies, it’s still a financial burden to distributors running on a tight budget.

4) Your Friends & Family Might Shun You

Hmm🤔, I think the title itself has explained very well what I am trying to say.

I don’t know you. But to me and most of the people I know, when we know there’s relatives or friends are getting into the MLM business. We’ll try our very best to avoid them.

Let me share a story with you.

I have an aunt who is an active member of BE International – a health & wellness MLM company that operates in Malaysia.

One day, she has introduced me to try out their flagship product, and I am quite interested, so I meet up with her.

Guess what? On that meetup, I was bombarded by her sales pitch, that kind of “forcing” me to join the MLM program.

Starting from that moment, I will shun her because of the horrible experience, or I could say it’s a “trauma” instead.

So if you decide to join Total Life Changes for their lucrative commissions, make sure you don’t go too aggressive on the recruitment.

Or else, your loved ones might end up shunning you.

Why Do I Like About Total Life Changes?

Quite frankly, I don’t think there’s something exceptional worth mentioning about this company besides it’s a well-established MLM company with a solid background.

It’s just a typical health & wellness MLM company without any unique selling point that caught my attention.

So, Is Total Life Changes A SCAM?

Now comes to the most crucial verdict: Is Total Life Changes A SCAM?

After 8+ hours of research, I can say they aren’t a scam, nor a pyramid scheme.

Instead, they’re legit MLM company that sells reputable weight loss products and outlines every detail of their compensation plan for user’s reference.

If they’re not legit, they should be shut down by the regulatory bodies a long time ago.

But, if you ask me if I would recommend their MLM business opportunity or not. My answer is: NOT REALLY because of the meager success rate

It is almost impossible for you to make a stable income out of Total Life Changes that could help you to quit your day job.

You might also end up doing what you hate because not every person is interested in face-to-face selling.

Meanwhile, my guess is you never want to bother your friends and relatives, just to introduce this “good opportunity” in which most people lose money.

Even if I say so, the choice is still yours. There’s no right or wrong answer for you to choose which business you want to get involved.

It’s better for you if you can do planning and calculation in advance to see if the business is worth your time and money or not.

You Deserve A Better Opportunity

Kudos to you! You’ve just read 2500+ words and still counting. If you make it this far, I commend your commitment.

Meanwhile, I can also feel how serious you’re when it comes to finding a proper way to make money from home.

MLM is great.

I am also not saying that people can’t make a decent living with MLM. But it often represents a tiny group of people who joined the program early.

That said, it’s challenging for people who’re BOPs (bottom-of-pyramid) to make some serious dough because they’re running out of people to “recruit”.

MLM Unilevel Compensation Structure

Instead, Affiliate Marketing is my top recommended business model for anyone to make money from home.

The reason is simple…

Advantage 1: No Recruitment Needed

  • You don’t need to “chase” after people and talk them into MLM opportunity where most people lose money.

Advantage 2: Freedom of Choice

  • You can promote any products you love and not be restricted only to promote the products from one MLM company.

Advantage 3: Low Startup Cost

  • Unlike MLM, where you’ll need to pay a pricy introductory fee to join, it takes little to no startup cost to kickstart your entrepreneurial journey in Affiliate Marketing.

You might think I’m biased, but I’m just telling the truths…

  1. HI Phua,

thanks for going into detail into this health and wellness mlm for us.  It looks the guy behind it is legit and has lots of experience, but I agree with your assessment about the market being saturated.  Also, the fact they do not have an income disclosure is worrying, as it makes it harder for you to base a decision on it.

For me, I think it is not an ideal business opportunity.

    thanks

    1. Thanks for your comment, John.

As I said, health & wellness is a highly competitive niche in the MLM industry. You’ll never know which product or which brand is the best.

That’s why I recommend beginners to give affiliate marketing a shot instead of MLM. To me, it’s a far better way to let you turn your passion into a thriving business that you love building.

  2. The first time I came across this Total Life Changes site I was searching for “Good MLM opportunities” and they came out. I see they are not a scam. But I’m starting to learn that MLMs don’t seem to be the right pathway. Your 2500+ words post has been very helpful. And I’ll check out this training you recommended at the end.

Thank you very much for this review.

    1. You’re welcome, Ann. I’m appreciated your honest comment and recognition of my article.

So it’s 100% risk-free to join Wealthy Affiliate.

  3. This is good detailed review of the “Total Life Changes, with your review helped me make a decision to check into the company more. From your details, the owner and the overall product returns good results. Recently I saw the product mentioned on social media, but not too much information about the company so needed to research more. I will be checking into this company and sharing your review on social media with my followers.
