What Is Max International?
Based in Utah, Max International is just another health & wellness multi-level marketing (MLM) company founded by 3 co-founders in 2007, namely, Steven K. Scott, Fred Ninow, and Gregory Fullerton.
I said it’s just “another MLM company” because the health & wellness niche is very competitive in the MLM industry. And you’ll never know which products are the best.
As yet, Max International has over 7,000 distributors across 13 countries. And according to BusinessForHome.org, they can bring in an average of $60 million in sales every year.

What Products Does Max International Offers?
Max International’s International’s flagship product is Max GXL ($85 for a 30-day product supply), claiming it can help you to stimulate GSH and enhance your overall health condition.
Apart from that, the other popular nutritional supplements they’ve offered are listed in the table below:
|Cellgevity||Cellular nutrition||$97 for a 30 day supply|
|MaxATP||Enhance performance||$85 for a pack of 15 single-serve drinks|
|MaxN-Fuze||Cellular defense||$92 for a 30 day supply|

As you can see from the table above, the prices of their products are reasonable because most MLM companies today are charging hundreds of dollars for just one single dietary supplement product.

How Do You Join Max International & Make Money?
1) Getting Started – The Joining Fee
To be Max International’s distributor, you need to pay a one-time introductory fee of $49, which then will come with a $25.00 annual renewal fee.
But this is not the end. You’ve to buy their product package worth between $130 to $999 to keep in your stock for retailing.
For you to qualify for their commission earnings, you also need to maintain at least 100 PV (personal volume) every month. And this is equivalent to around an extra $150/month.
2) Understand The Basics Of Their Compensation Plan
As I’ve mentioned earlier, most compensation plans are very complicated.
Let’s not talk about the different tiers/leaderboard rankings and any complex MLM stuff that could bore you and “put you to sleep faster than a sloth on Ambien.”
To keep things simple for better understanding, let’s just talk about the main ways that you can earn commissions from Max International.
Sounds cool? Great.
Overall, there’re 7 different ways for you to get paid by Max International, and they pay all the commissions via a binary compensation structure, as shown in the figure below.
i. Retail Profit
You can earn a retail profit when you purchase products from the company at wholesale prices and resell them at retail prices.
If not mistaken, the company does not restrict how much you want to set for the products’ retail prices.
ii. Fast Track Bonus
You can earn Fast Track Bonus from the recruitment you make within your first 60 days with the company.
New recruits will buy the product package when they’re decided to join Max International, the higher their package worth, the more commission you’ll be getting.
iii. Binary Commissions/Team Commissions
Once you’ve built up a solid downline team, you can earn a percentage of commissions from every sales and recruitment they make.
iv. Matching Check Bonus
Max International pays a matching bonus on binary commissions earned by distributors who personally recruit members, payable down to 7 levels deep.
v. Global Bonus Pool
The Global Bonus Pool is made up of 2% of Max International’s International’s global sales volume.
You could get a 1% profit share from it if you managed to grow 1,000 sales volume in your weaker binary leg when compared to the previous month.
vi. Platinum and Diamond Pools
The Platinum Pool is made up of 0.5% of Max International’s International’s global sales volume, whereas the Diamond Pool is made up of 0.25%.
This bonus pools paid out equally to all Platinum and Diamond ranked distributors. And Diamond ranked distributors are paid in both pools.
vii. Max Living Bonus
The Max Living Bonus is a monthly leadership incentive paid to a high ranked distributor (Platinum and above).
3) Build Your Team & Earn Commission
After paying all the joining fees and understanding the basics of their compensation plan, the last thing you should do is recruiting as many people as possible to build a reliable downline team and earn commissions.
And now you might be asking whether you can choose to make commission only through selling their product or not, without recruiting people.
My answer is Yes. But, you’ve to understand that the ideal way to succeed in MLM business is to form a downline team that can branch out your circle and maximizes your earning potential.
That’s why it’s called Multi-Level Marketing (MLM).
If you would like to learn more about their MLM program, I suggest you to take some time to watch the full explanation video below:

7 Reasons Why I Don't Recommend Max International
1. History of Lawsuits
Here’s the list of the filed lawsuits that Max International has involved:
2012: 2 MLM health & wellness giants – IDLife and DNA Stat sued Max International for several reasons such as making false claims on studies being conducted around its products, overpricing products, and many more.
An MLM company with so many lawsuits might not be a great choice to work with (at least for me).
2. They’re Not A Member of The Direct Sellers Association (DSA)
If an MLM company is not listed/accredited by DSA, I can’t confirm that they’re a legit network marketing company or not because they can be shut down by FTC anytime for involving in an inappropriate Ponzi scheme business.
3. Troublesome Stockpiling
Most MLM companies don’t require their distributors to stockpile their products.
Whenever their customers want to buy the products, all they need to do is order online and wait for the company to ship their orders. Simple as that.
But somehow Max International plays a different game. They require their distributors to keep their inventories as many as possible for retail selling.
This will make the distributors’ lives cumbersome, and their MLM businesses will also be restricted if they don’t want to trouble themselves by shipping the products overseas.
4. Expensive Joining Fees
This is a very straightforward reason.
You’ll know that the joining fees are not cheap after adding the costs altogether, it’s not affordable if you’re running on a tight budget.
You might need to spend thousands of dollars in your first year with Max International, and there’s no guarantee you’ll be getting ideal returns.
5. Heavy Emphasis on Recruitment More Than Product Selling
Quite frankly, heavy emphasis on recruitment is nothing new in the MLM industry, it’s the only way out if you want to win the pyramid selling game.
If you’re a shy and introverted person who hates face-to-face selling like me, and you also not comfortable with making new friends. MLM might not be a great choice for you.
6. Competitive Niche
To be honest, the products that Max International offers are prevalent among MLM companies.
So, why waste your time in such a saturated market?
7. Low Income Potential
We all know that to reap the MLM industry’s maximum benefits, we’ve to be one of the TOPPs (top-of-pyramid) by getting into a certain MLM program when they’re just starting out.
Earning with MLM is rarely a good idea unless you’re one of the TOPPs.
Max International’s income disclosure below is the evidence to support my claim:
Based on what I’ve highlighted for you, 99.16% of active members are making less than $1000/month. (Red Color Highlights)
Then, I googled how much is the average monthly salary in the world, and here’s the result that I obtained:
In other words, that means most of the distributors are making below monthly minimum wage.
And from the Yellow highlight, after doing some simple math, it showed that only 77 members in the entire company are making enough income.
I pretty sure all of these members are the people who get into MLM network way earlier than you. They’re the so-called TOPPs.
What Do I Like About Max International?
1. Perfect BBB Rating & Zero Customers Complaints
Even though they’re not getting accreditation from BBB, they’re still rated as “A+” by BBB, and they’re not getting any customer complaints yet.
These are great signs showing that they’re doing a great job in providing the best customer shopping experience, and resolve their issues on time.
2. 30 Money-Back Guarantee
A good refund policy could help a company to gain trust from customers easier.
It’s also necessary because not everyone will like the taste of the nutritional supplements offered by Max International.
Also, sometimes customers will receive wrong or damaged products from the company. I know it’s quite rare, but it still can happen anytime.
If you’re not satisfied with Max International’s products, you can still apply for a refund within 30 days.
So, Is Max International A Scam?
Now to the most crucial verdict: Is Max International A SCAM.
To be honest, I can’t make a definite judgment to claim that Max International is a scam, but it doesn’t mean that it’s legitimate.
They do provide you retail products to sell, and they also laid out every detail of their compensation plan for your reference.
However, this is not the best business opportunity that I can recommend to anyone because they’re not a member of DSA, and their earning potential is really low.
Likewise, your income is highly reliable on your downline team in MLM. If they don’t sell, you won’t earn a dime.
I think it’s safe to say that it’s almost impossible for you to make a stable income out of Max International that could help you to quit your day job.
Even if I say so, the choice is still yours. There’s no right or wrong answer for you to choose which business you want to get involved.
It’s better for you if you can do planning and calculation in advance to see if the business is worth your time and money or not.
You Deserve A Better Opportunity
Kudos to you! You’ve just read 2400+ words and still counting. If you make it this far, I commend your commitment.
Meanwhile, I can also feel how serious you’re when it comes to finding a proper way to make money from home.
As you might know, MLM is a flawed business model.
For sure, there’re still people who make a good amount of money with MLM. But it often represents a tiny group of people who joined the program early.
That said, it’s challenging for people who’re BOPs (bottom-of-pyramid) to make some serious dough because they’re running out of people to “recruit”.
Instead, Affiliate Marketing is my top recommended business model for anyone to make money from home.
The reason is simple…
Advantage 1: No Recruitment Needed
- You don’t need to “chase” after people and talk them into MLM opportunity where most people lose money.
Advantage 2: Freedom of Choice
- You can promote any products you love and not be restricted only to promote the products from one MLM company.
Advantage 3: Low Startup Cost
- Unlike MLM, where you’ll need to pay a pricy introductory fee to join, it takes little to no startup cost to kickstart your entrepreneurial journey in Affiliate Marketing.
You might think I’m biased, but I’m just telling the truths…
